前 言
彼得后书和雅各书向来被称作新约圣经里的“幽暗角落”。这一称呼并非完全没有根据。姑且不论这样称呼它们原因何在，基督教界普遍对这两卷书信所知甚少，这的确是令人惋惜的事实。一部分人之所以忽视这两封书信，很可能是出于这样一种假设，即它们所论及的议题已经过时，不再是当今时代迫切需要关注的焦点。还有一部分人可能觉得，它们最初成书的历史背景模糊不清，显示其价值观未必适用于我们这个时代。再者，这两卷书中充满了所谓的“难明白之事”（彼后3:16），或许这也使得基督徒把它们推向了阴暗的角落。然而，谦卑、锲而不舍地研究这两卷书信，会使我们确立这样一种信念，即它们是新约正典中非常有价值的组成部分，在我们经历动荡不安的岁月时永远是弥足珍贵的属灵财富。盼望本书可以帮助大家更好地理解这两卷书信。
本注释书使用美国标准译本（American Standard Version，1901年版）作为深入研究这两封书信的起点。本人之所以在众多的现代译本中选用这个译本，是基于这样一个确信，即此译本高度符合原文，是通往希腊原文最为便捷的桥梁之一。这本关于彼得后书和犹大书的注释书虽以希腊原文为依据，却是为那些不甚精通这一语言的研经者量身打造的。所有被注解的经文都有希腊文音译，通常被置于括号内，紧挨邻近上下文中的译文。
这两封书信的导论部分以保守的观点提供若干评论，旨在帮助读者了解那些困扰他们的历史及经文鉴别学难题。注释部分前面的大纲给出了关于书信内容的浅析，同时它们也贯穿整个注释部分以引入相关的内容。
多年以来，这两封公认难解的书信一直是我研究和课堂解经的主题。我对彼得后书和犹大书的理解应归功于各种不同的资源。书中大量的脚注和参考书目可以证明我蒙受了他人何等的恩惠。拙著的写成也离不开专心致志的研究，这唯独令我对新约正典中这两卷书所蕴含的永恒属灵价值有了更深刻的欣赏。
